Rocker Marilyn Manson was knocked out cold Saturday night and carried off the stage of the Hammerstein Ballroom when a piece of the set fell on him during a concert.

It happened about halfway through his performance when he tried to climb a large replica of two guns, said Tim Jalbert, who was in the audience.

“He had just performed his cover of `Sweet Dreams,’ Jalbert said.

“He was lying on the stage out cold. People were chanting, `Manson! Manson!`

“The lights stayed down and they put up curtains around him as first responders worked on him.’’

Jalbert said the audience waited “for maybe 15-20 minutes before the announcement came over the system saying that the show was finished ‘due to injury.’ ”

Manson was taken to a local hospital — his spokeswoman would not say which one or comment about his condition. But Variety quoted “a source close to the situation’’ saying that Manson “should be fine.’’
