A Marine sergeant who was stationed in Newburgh, New York was reportedly among the 16 people killed when a military plane crashed into a Mississippi soybean field.

Julian Kevianne, 31, was stationed at Stewart Air Force base as was confirmed as one of the dead my a family member living in Michigan, according to the Detroit Free Press.

“The Marines knocked on my mother’s door at 2 this morning,” his brother, Carlo told the paper.

“They said his plane went down, and they weren’t able to find him.”

It still wasn’t clear Tuesday what caused the crash.

Stewart Air Base, where Kevianne was stationed, is the home of the 105th Airlift Wing, an Air Mobility Command unit of the New York Air National Guard, the press said.
