The Queens woman who dumped her baby in a garbage bin after giving birth in a bathroom at Elmhurst Hospital said she did it because she was “afraid that her mother would find out” about her pregnancy, court documents say.

Dawa Lama, 23, was arraigned in Queens court on Saturday and held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
