Five people were injured in a massive Brooklyn fire that destroyed three homes Sunday night, officials said.
The blaze broke out at about 6:30 p.m. at a house on Arlington Avenue in Cypress Hills, then grew to a five-alarm inferno as it spread to five other buildings.
“We experienced a heavy, heavy fire,” FDNY Chief of Department James Leonard said Sunday. “Three of the buildings are totally destroyed.”
Nearly 250 firefighters battled the blaze. Four civilians and one firefighter were hospitalized with minor injuries.
