New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is reassigning all of his deputy commissioners.
The move is temporary though.
Bloomberg announced in his inaugural speech that deputies would move to another agency for three weeks, in order to improve interagency relations and foster new ideas.
Switches include assigning the Education Department deputy to the Parks Department to explore more recreational opportunities for public school students and combating child obesity.
The deputies switched Tuesday and will report back after three weeks with observations and recommendations.
Bloomberg used to employ a similar shakeup at his financial information company.
