McSorley’s Old Ale House has reopened after a health inspector

over evidence of rats and other vermin.

The East Village watering hole had a yellow sticker slapped on its door with instructions to close last Wednesday when a surprise inspection found 42 rat droppings and other rodent evidence, the owner and  the Department of Health told The Post.

Matthew Maher, the pub’s owner, said the rats got in when a construction worker left a grate open during a gas pipe replacement.

They’ve since plugged up all the holes and got the thumbs up from the health department, which allowed the bar to reopen today.

In 162 years, this was the first time McSorley’s was ever shut down.
