‘Mean girls’ kiss-up
HARTFORD — A former student at a Connecticut prep school is dropping her lawsuit over alleged bullying by a clique of girls.
Tatum Bass, of Beaufort, SC, and Miss Porter’s School announced this week in a joint statement that they resolved the 2008 case “with mutual respect” on Dec. 31. Terms were not disclosed.
Bass was a student-government leader and an athlete before the alleged harassment. Her suit said administrators failed to protect her from bullies in her classes and dorm on the all-girl boarding school’s Farmington campus and on Facebook.
Miss Porter’s, one of the nation’s most selective such schools, counts as alumnae the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Gloria Vanderbilt.
