A 95-year-old Queens man finally got the Bronze Star yesterday — more than six decades after orchestrating the rescues of 500-plus bombardiers shot down over Nazi-occupied Serbia.
George Vujnovich’s feat went unheralded for so long because he was with the super-secret OSS, precursor of the CIA.
