Boxes of brand new medical scrubs were left outside a Brooklyn uniform company Thursday, drawing outrage form netizens — but the company says they were just trying to give the supplies away.

Video posted on Instagram showed pallets of gear piled up alongside the Richardson Street warehouse of Adar Medical Uniforms, with packages of blue scrubs strewn about.

Two people are seen picking through the pile.

“Why would they dump all of this? So sad,” one user commented.

But Adar said in an Instagram post that the pile of scrubs was “put out” by the company to provide gear to nurses and others during a resurgence of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We put out thousands of free scrubs in front of our warehouse in Brooklyn and reached out to local nurses in the community letting them know and telling our Adar team to spread the word,” the post said.

“It seems some people may have had misconceptions that the scrubs we are donating were left outside to be thrown out as we did not issue a public announcement about this giveaway,” the company said. “Rest assured this is not the case.”

Adar’s post said they also donated scrubs to local hospitals, as well as the Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

The company did not respond to a request for comment on Thursday.

Instagram users wrote that the scrubs weer all gone by Thursday afternoon.

Adar’s post said there would be additional giveaways.
