A New York real-estate broker who lent Rep. Gregory Meeks $40,000 in 2007 was denied permission to travel to South America yesterday — a week after he was arrested and charged with mortgage fraud.
Edul Ahmad, 43, said he wanted to fly to his native Guyana to close a real-estate deal. Guyana and the United States do not have an extradition treaty.
