With no winner in Friday’s drawing, one lucky winner on Christmas Eve could score a Mega Millions jackpot nearing $1 billion.
That would mark the seventh-largest prize in Mega Millions history – and the largest ever won in the month of December.

Since there were no winners, the grand prize ballooned to $944 million.
The last jackpot win was on Sept. 10.
A jackpot winner in Tuesday’s drawing on Christmas Eve could accept the winnings in annual annuity payments or a lump sum estimated at $429.4 million, according to the lottery.
