The World Trade Center Memorial is almost two years from opening, but thousands of visitors turn out every day to glimpse the massive construction project. Since opening a little more than two months ago, more than 215,000 people have toured the memorial’s preview center at 20 Vesey St. — roughly 3,000 a day — with virtually no advertising or promotion, memorial officials said.
“This is a reflection that 9/11 still has such deep resonance with so many people,” said Joseph Daniels, president of the Memorial Foundation.
