Celebrated TV journalist Bob Simon will be remembered by friends and family during a private funeral service at the Metropolitan Opera House on Tuesday morning.

A public memorial service for the “60 minutes” correspondent will follow in the coming months, sources said.

Simon was an opera aficionado who reported on several music-centered stories throughout his career, including a feature on the Met and its mission.
