Mike: Albany $inking NYC
Mayor Bloomberg hinted yesterday that tax revenues are far exceeding projections, saying that except for proposed cutbacks from Albany the city would be in excellent financial condition.
“If it wasn’t for the state all of a sudden inequitably redistributing money, we’d be in fine shape,” the mayor said on his weekly WOR radio show.
His remarks were somewhat surprising, considering Bloomberg has been sounding the alarm bell for months about next year’s looming deficit. It was last projected at $2.4 billion.
