New Yorkers should quit whining about airport body scans and pat-downs, Mayor Bloomberg said yesterday.

“We have to stop all this shilly-shallying and understand: If you want to be safe on airplanes we have to make sure that we keep you safe,” said Bloomberg — who was patted down when he flew from Reagan National Airport in Washington last week.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly added, “I think technology is the way to go, and I would urge people to use the body scanners where they’re available.

“It’s going to speed up the process for everyone.”

Some passengers have revolted over the more than 400 body scanners in use at airports around the country, and activist groups are urging fliers to opt out of body scans today, the busiest travel day of the year.
