Get ready for layoffs if Albany whacks the city badly in the upcoming state budget, Mayor Bloomberg warned yesterday.

The mayor pointed out that every county stands to lose 5 percent of state revenue sharing under Gov. Paterson’s $134 billion spending plan — except for New York City, which stands to lose 100 percent.

“We cannot do that,” the mayor said. “That will mean an enormous number of layoffs in the city if we get cut back that much.”

State officials estimate the city’s total hit at $750 million. City officials called that a low-ball figure.
