City drivers will have to be “rational” just a little bit longer.

With more than a third of city gas stations still closed, Mayor Bloomberg has extended gas rationing through Thanksgiving.

Odd-even gas rules will continue through Friday, he said, “to ensure we do not risk going back to the extreme lines we saw prior to the system being implemented.

“The odd-even license-plate system has worked well,” he said.

Under the system, cars with plates ending in even numbers or zero can buy gas only on even-numbered days. Plates ending in odd numbers can buy on odd days.

Rationing in Long Island and Jersey has ended.
