Leading your team to a national college basketball championship has its rewards: an invitation from Mayor Bloomberg to catch a Knicks game together.

Bloomberg wasted no time extending the offer and congrats yesterday to Kemba Walker for the University of Connecticut’s 53-41 win over Butler in the NCAA finals Monday night.

The mayor described Walker, who attended Rice HS in Harlem, as “an awfully nice kid.”
