Mike: $tand up for CEOs
Mayor Bloomberg is now the loudest voice demanding that Washington keep its tax mitts off Wall Street.
Amid White House calls to squash the industry’s hefty bonuses, Bloomberg yesterday said city workers should descend on the capital and demand the exact opposite — higher pay for finance execs.
“If [they] don’t pay out bonuses, then we can’t tax [them],” he said. “Cops, firefighters, teachers — all municipal workers — should be down there screaming, ‘Pay Wall Street people more!’ ”
