It took 25 years, but it looks like the historic McCarren Pool in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, will finally be getting its long-needed makeover.

Mayor Bloomberg presided over a ceremonial groundbreaking yesterday at the Depression-era pool, which has been closed since 1984 and is supposed to reopen in the spring of 2012 after a $50 million face-lift.
