Miscarry teens off hook
Two teens whose high-school horseplay led to a beloved teacher’s miscarriage won’t be charged, the Bronx District Attorney’s Office said yesterday.
One of the 15-year-olds — whose names have not been released — pushed Spanish teacher Lissedia Batista to the ground in the incident Wednesday at Explorations Academy. Students say it was an accident.
Batista, 27, miscarried later at North Central Hospital. She was recovering from her injuries yesterday, said relatives.
The students are off the hook largely because Batista doesn’t want them prosecuted, authorities said.
