A New Jersey school lunch has prompted outrage over its “unacceptable” offering after a teacher shared an image of the meal on social media.

Zellie Thomas, who teaches in the Paterson Public School District, posted a photo Wednesday on Twitter blasting the unappetizing piece of turkey and carrots offered to students.

“It’s not a pancake. It’s one slice of processed turkey and some carrots,” Thomas tweeted.

Thomas said the stomach-churning meal had been served to kindergarten students at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Educational Complex.

“No bread. No knife. This is a week after the city promised to start serving better food,” Thomas wrote.

The disgusting meals were slammed by Bernice King, the daughter of the civil rights icon who is the namesake of the school.

“Unacceptable,” King wrote on Twitter.

Paterson Schools Superintendent Eileen Shafer called a press conference in response to the viral image and vowed to overhaul the lunch system.

“We know we have a problem and we are already meeting and fixing it,” she said, Pix11 reported.
