A prominent New York Republican yesterday gave a thumbs-down to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s GOP candidacy for president.
“Newt Gingrich as president of the United States? That cannot happen,” said Guy Molinari, the former Staten Island congressman who served with Gingrich in the House in the 1980s.
Gingrich spokesman Rick Tyler declined comment.
