The Long Island mom whose son is receiving court-ordered chemotherapy despite being in remission from leukemia continued her fight Wednesday to control his medical treatment.
Nick Gundersen, 13, “wants to be with his mom,” the boy’s law guardian argued in Suffolk County Family Court.
Instead, he’s in a cancer ward at NYU Winthrop Hospital, a tracking device on his wrist and guards outside his door, after Child Protective Services took his mom to court last month because she sought “alternative therapy” against a doctor’s advice.
A decision in the case is expected Friday.
