A Long Island woman overdosed on what was believed to be heroin while in her car as her infant daughter sat in the back seat, according to police.
Officers responding to a parking lot at a Massapequa shopping center for a call of a passed-out woman sitting in her parked vehicle Monday afternoon found 29-year-old Rhiannon Baker slumped over the steering wheel, cops said.
Baker was unresponsive and the car was not running. Her 2-month-old daughter was in the back seat, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Authorities arrested Baker without incident and she was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The baby girl was released to a relative at the scene, police said.
Baker was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
