NEW YORK — Police say a Brooklyn mother slashed her baby in the neck and then stabbed herself in the leg.

Officers were called to a home on East 38th Street in East Flatbush early today.

They found a 5-month-old boy who had been slashed in the neck. The infant was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

The 29-year-old mother was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

She is also being treated at Kings County for the self-inflicted stab wound.
