A vigilant mom who recognized the man who had tried to rape her 17-year-old daughter pointed him out to a Port Authority cop, who nabbed the suspect after a chase in Hell’s Kitchen, authorities said.
The drama unfolded at 5 p.m. Tuesday when the Chelsea mom, 38, who was walking with her daughter, spotted Marc Oquendo, 20, outside the PA Bus Terminal. He had once dated the teen and allegedly tried to rape her at her apartment on Saturday.
“That’s the man who raped my daughter!” the mother screamed.
PA Police Officer Lenny Averhoff heard the cry and captured Oquendo, who was charged with burglary as a sexually motivated crime and attempted rape.
