Police rescued more than two dozen injured and sick pit bulls that were being neglected in filthy, feces-filled cages at a Queens home, police said Friday.

The animals’ 59-year-old owner, Andrew Cato, was charged Wednesday with numerous counts of neglect for allegedly failing to provide the pooches with adequate food and water, cops said.

“[The dogs} were being kept in cages coated with feces and urine without proper ventilation, under unsanitary conditions without clean food or water,” a police spokeswoman said.

Cops removed 27 dogs, with varying levels of injuries or medical conditions, from the home on 95th Avenue on Richmond Hill, according to police.

A police spokeswoman said cops found the dogs after a tipster reported unsanitary conditions at the home.
