Former Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau said last night that holding the 9/11 terror trial in lower Manhattan would be “absurd” and bring state courts to halt.

“Nobody’s been talking about that,” Morgenthau said at a New York Press Club event.

He added that there are 110,000 state cases a year.

“I don’t want to overstate it, but I think it’s . . . absurd,” he said. “I think the state court system would come to a standstill.”
