BOSTON — The mother of a New York City woman killed in a Boston hotel by a man police say contacted her through Craigslist says she still hasn’t seen the evidence in the case even though the suspect killed himself in jail six months ago.

Carmen Guzman tells The Boston Globe she is frustrated that Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley has not released the case file on Philip Markoff, the 24-year-old Boston University medical student who was charged with killing Julissa Brisman in 2008.

Guzman and her lawyer say the file could provide information that would help them pursue civil complaints against the hotel and the New Hampshire gun shop prosecutors say sold Markoff the weapon he used.

A spokesman for Conley says the office expects to release the case file soon.
