A New Jersey woman put her newborn baby in the middle of a road and set the girl on fire Saturday, authorities said.

Burlington County prosecutors said Hyphernkemberly Dorvilier, 22, of Pemberton Township, was jailed on $500,000 bail.

Police responded to a Friday-night call about a fire on a township road. Officers found the baby in flames and put out the fire.

The child was rushed to a hospital in Philadelphia and died about two hours later, said a prosecutor’s spokesman.
