YONKERS, N.Y. — A motorist has died following a fiery early morning crash with a tractor-trailer on the New York Thruway in Yonkers.

The northbound Thruway was closed for more than two hours on Friday morning, according to The Journal News.

There was no immediate word on the condition of the truck driver.

The accident occurred shortly after 6 a.m. near the I-87 ramp to the Cross County Parkway.

The car ended up wedged between the truck and a concrete divider that separates Central Park Avenue from I-87.
