WASHINGTON — This is more action than the White House briefing room has seen in months.
Reporters were sent scrambling Tuesday after a mouse dropped out of the ceiling of NBC News’ booth in the press area of the White House — right onto correspondent Peter Alexander’s lap — and then made a mad dash through the briefing room.
Tweets of the incident show correspondents searching for the critter –described as a baby — under the desks in the first floor area where press sits.
The search was later taken to the briefing room, which sits unused most days, as the newest press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, has never held a briefing.
The mouse was never caught, a source told The Post.
Mouse traps are a usual sighting in the press areas at the White House, but daytime rodent visitors are rare.
