Subway rides are better known for hellish moments than Hallmark ones, but that hasn’t stopped the MTA from licensing a line of greeting cards.

“Congratulations,” says a card featuring the C train’s logo.

“Baby Boy Arrives!” reads one for the B line.

On sale at the stationery Web site Tastement, the cards are the brainchild of Seema Malik, an architect from the Upper West Side who branched out into graphic design after losing her job a year ago.

Greeting cards mark the important stops on life’s journey, so the subway is a fitting theme, she said.

“It is incredible how the subway connects us to almost all of New York,” said Malik, 32. “And with these cards I am trying to bring about a similar connection.”

The MTA gets a 10 percent cut of each $3.50 card.
