MTA credit hit
And you thought things couldn’t get any worse for the cash-strapped MTA.
One of the leading credit agencies downgraded the MTA’s rating yesterday after taking a second look at its skyrocketing pension, operating and debt-service costs.
Fitch knocked down the agency from an A+ to an A.
The downgrade could increase the cost of future borrowing and drain precious funds from the operating budget.
