MTA honors WWII heroes
The MTA’s 100th Street Depot has a new name, and it’s one steeped not only in American history, but also in New York lore.
As of yesterday, the facility at 1552 Lexington Ave. in East Harlem is the Tuskegee Airmen Bus Depot.
The US Army Air Corps World War II heroes were African-American aviators famed for fighting Nazis in Europe and racism at home.
And 12 of them later found work with New York City Transit.
