Bye, bye Brooklyn Battery Tunnel.

The MTA is officially renaming the 62-year old tunnel connecting Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan after the late Gov. Hugh Carey on Monday, officials said yesterday.

MTA Chairman Joseph Lhota and members of Carey’s family will attend the 11 am dedication ceremony, two years after the state legislature approved the name change.

Carey — credited with rescuing New York during the fiscal crisis in the 1970’s — died in 2011.

The renaming of the downtown tunnel in his honor is particularly appropriate because Carey, a Brooklyn resident, helped build Battery Park City, said former Mayor Ed Koch, who lobbied officials to change the name.

“Battery Park was first thought of by [Gov. Nelson] Rockefeller but it was Hugh Carey who got it built,” said Koch, who was close with Carey.

“I’m very happy.”
