The MTA’s overtime king is trying to scare away reporters.

Thomas Caputo, the Long Island Rail Road retiree who raked in a whopping $344,147 in overtime last year, placed a scarecrow on the front stoop of his Holbrook, Long Island, home — holding a sign with the words “NO COMMENT” and “NO TRESPASSING” scrawled in black marker.

The scarecrow was propped up next to the front door, clad in a brown cowboy hat, work gloves and jeans, with a printout of a man’s face attached to it.

While delays on the Long Island Rail Road hit a 19-year high in 2018, Caputo, its chief measurement operator, brought home a fat $461,646 paycheck — more than anyone else at the agency, and $164,027 more than he earned the year before.

Caputo retired this month after 30 years on the job.
