A mugger broke an 83-year-old woman’s elbow as he grabbed her purse and threw her to the ground in Queens this week, cops said.
The woman was walking home at 5:15 p.m. Sunday when a stranger got out of a dark-colored SUV, grabbed her purse and hurled her to the ground on Queens Boulevard near 112th Street in Forest Hills, authorities said late Monday.
The attacker then got back in his ride with the senior’s purse — which held $50, an ID card, bank cards and an iPhone, police said.
The victim was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital – Queens in stable condition with a broken elbow.
The suspect was later captured on surveillance video as he attempted, unsuccessfully, to use one of the victim’s bank cards at a bodega on East 167th Street in the Concourse section of the Bronx.
He is shown wearing a black and white Moncler jacket over a light-colored hoodie.
