A Brooklyn man died of his injuries 14 hours after muggers brutally punched and kicked him — and he declined medical attention, police said.
Michael Brown, 39, had taken a walk to his neighborhood bodega on Utica Avenue in Crown Heights early Saturday when a group of five men confronted him in the store and stole his cellphone, police said.
Brown made two grave decisions — first confronting the muggers, and then refusing medical attention at the scene after the gang gave him what proved to be a fatal beating.
Instead, he trudged home.
Then, at around 6:15 p.m. Saturday, horrified relatives found him coughing up blood and losing consciousness, cops said.
Brown died at a hospital shortly after. Cops are seeking the suspects.
