Eight people were seriously injured this afternoon after a fire broke out inside a Bronx housing project, authorities said.

The fire broke out at 2:13 p.m. on the top three floors of the Pelham Parkway Houses at 785 Pelham Parkway North.

At least one child was injured in the blaze, fire officials said.

All those who were injured were taken to Jacobi Hospital.

The Pelham Parkway Houses include 23, six-story buildings with nearly 1,300 apartments.
