Emergency workers cover the body of a man with a sheet after he died in the tracks.A mentally unstable man was killed when he touched the third rail at a Queens subway station Monday, sources said.
The man was seen by witnesses talking to himself on the J train platform at the 75th Street station neat Eldert Lane before jumping down onto the tracks around 10:15 a.m.
He was then electrocuted when he touched the third rail, sources said.
Rescuers turned off power to the rail and removed the man’s body to the morgue.
The incident is still under investigation.
