A rotting skeletal body was found under a Queens highway overpass Tuesday morning, cops said.

The grisly discovery was reported to cops just after 11 a.m., with the remains found in a vacant, doored-off storage area under the ramp of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway’s Exit 41 for Northern Boulevard in Jackson Heights, police and sources said.

The body was so badly decomposed that cops weren’t immediately able to determine the person’s gender, authorities said.

The city medical examiner’s office will conduct a forensic investigation to determine the cause of death, too, police said.

It was not immediately clear who found the body or notified police.

The investigation is ongoing.
