Two West African diplomats lured a 19-year-old orphan to New York by promising her a job and an education, but instead subjected her to “forced labor” and sexual harassment for years, a new lawsuit claims.
Fatouma Ouedraogo was forced to cook, clean and care for the couple’s baby 14 hours a day, seven days a week, her Manhattan federal court suit claims.
In four years, Fatouma got just four payments of $80 to $100 , as well as a handful of $2 calling cards from her employers — her mother’s cousin, Lucile Bonkoungou Ouedraogo, and her husband, Leopold Bonkoungou, diplomats for Burkina Faso.
Neither could be reached for comment.
