A Nassau cop was shot in the face tonight in Massapequa Park, authorities said.

The officer was responding to a disturbance on Fourth Avenue near Front Street around 8:20 p.m. when he was wounded.

The victim, whose name was withheld, was rushed to Nassau University Medical Center in critical condition where he later died, sources said.

The suspect is in custody, officials said.
