The National Organization for Women endorsed Gov. Cuomo for re-election on Thursday — before “Sex And the City” actress Cynthia Nixon could even announce her plans to challenge him.
“At a time when our rights are under attack at the federal level, we have in Governor Cuomo a leader who works tirelessly to drive forward progress here in New York,” said NOW president Sonia Ossorio.
The group praised Cuomo’s women’s agenda, which includes a plan to combat sexual harassment by doing away with confidential settlements in government.
Nixon has been in talks with political consultants who handled Mayor de Blasio’s run for City Hall in 2013 to handle her campaign.
