A private Upper East Side high school was evacuated Tuesday afternoon when a nearby building caught fire, sending clouds of dark smoke over the neighborhood.

A spokesman for Loyola High School said student and faculty were moved to nearby Regis High School after the East 83rd Street fire broke shortly at 2 p.m.

Student Matthew Murstein took snaps of the flames and the puffy black smoke hovering in the air.

Authorities say the fire was contained by 2:33 p.m. and no one was injured.
