An outraged mom whose child was diagnosed with lead poisoning is suing her landlady, saying the woman’s negligence and the chipping paint in their Brooklyn apartment have left her son with severe and irreversible health problems.

Betty Recard claims her landlady, Thomasena Pottinger, should have known the paint coating the walls of Recard’s pre-1960s Bed-Stuy apartment was dangerous to her infant son, but Pottinger never renovated the space or addressed the conditions, the Manhattan federal-court suit claims.

Recard was living in the unit when she gave birth to the boy in October 2012. In May 2014, he was diagnosed with lead poisoning.

Recard is suing Pottinger for an unspecified amount, claiming negligence and “loss of companionship.”

Reached by phone, an irate Pottinger denied the allegations. Recard declined to comment.
