New Amtrak cars
Amtrak is receiving the first of 70 electric locomotives made by Siemens AG intended to replace equipment that’s as old as 35 years.
The first three locomotives, bought with a $532 million Federal Railroad Administration loan in 2010, came off the production line in Sacramento, Calif., yesterday.
The trains will replace the Northeast Corridor fleet.
