A Bergen County teen whose family ran a popular Italian restaurant was shot dead in Newark, police said Monday.
McKayla Perri, 18, of Lyndhurst was shot on Broad Street near 3rd Avenue late on Friday and died just a few hours later at University Hospital, according to cops.
Police are offering a $10,000 reward for information that helps lead to an arrest.
It was unclear why the teen was in Newark at the time of the shooting.
Perri graduated from Lyndhurst High School just five months ago.
The teen’s uncle runs the North Arlington restaurant Roma Ristorante, according to an obituary and the restaurant’s website.
